INTEGRATED LOGISTIC SYSTEM MANAGER

for its Engineering Department Activities and Responsibilities The Design Package Manager is an experienced engineer, familiar with the design of Integrated Logistic System of complex projects, with knowledge in the main areas of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability, and able to manage the ILS package produced by different partners and deliver the expected ILS data package to the end-users. The main responsibilities of the ILS Manager are:

- Prepare the conditions for the proper execution of ILS studies from the beginning of the programme and ensure the non-technical management of design activities during the contract. Successful experience in the management of ILS studies in an international cooperation environment is required. 

- Prepare, in close liaison with suppliers, the deliverables due from the client and ensure that they meet the quality, cost and schedule targets defined by the programme.

- Closely supervise the activities related to the ILS studies performed by the main partners (1 in Italy, 1 in Europe). 

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering performance in the field of ILS studies through appropriate organisation and tools.

- Manage ILS-related interfaces with system suppliers for the HRZ MLU programme by managing regular meetings and reviews.

- Contribute, within the scope of his/her responsibilities, to the preparation of tenders, in particular by estimating the costs of the client's engineering activities, in liaison with the other employees of the company, The ILS Manager will be responsible for monitoring the design costs of the projects he/she manages. He/she will have to control the essential parameters for the success of the studies, i.e. the deadlines and costs of the studies. Qualifications and experience required As an ILS manager on the whole warship level (PF and CS and cross-cutting activities), you will be able to monitor complex ILS development tasks alone or in the form of workshops with partners. Have a good knowledge of the requirements of recognised standards and specific software and databases specified by the Navy . Have a good command of IT tools to improve the productivity and quality of studies (macros, document proformas, study tracking tables and adapted indicators, study planning, filing tree structure for study documents and data, etc.). In this area, he/she will manage regular meetings of the design team and ensure that these meetings are useful for the team and remain efficient.  He/she will contribute to the preparation of tenders in the field of studies and the interactions between design, procurement and production.

PROFILE

Engineering graduate (Master's level) with proven successful experience as ILS designer/manager on truly complex naval products, possibly in an international environment. In this field, a proven knowledge of the Italian Navy ILS databases is mandatory.

- You are able to present your work to demanding customers and convince them of the quality and correctness of your design results.

- A good knowledge of combat ships and their combat systems, functional and physical masts is an advantage.

- Professional English (spoken, written and read) is essential for the job. The ability to speak Italian and French is a plus in the particular bi-national context of the client. - You are organised, have proven leadership, listening and understanding skills to manage ILS design activities by the client's partner, the client's representatives and multiple international partners for a given project. Team building is important to you.

 - You are able to integrate subcontracted studies into activities and work in a multinational context. You will be able to integrate third-party activities and programme interfaces into the client's activities.

Occasional travel to Europe is expected as part of the activities of the position .

Contract: open-ended

Hours: 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday
