- Procurement optimisation Tasks and responsibilities Must be able to follow, understand and co-ordinate the design of platform systems, at least in terms of architecture and overall dimensioning, and to produce professional quality products based on data provided by the customer's partners.
The ability to technically coordinate key subcontractors is mandatory. This involves regular technical meetings, design reviews, follow-up of action logs. The objective is to ensure that the project implemented by the partners meets customer requirements. As Platform System Specialist, you will be responsible for presenting the solutions proposed by the contractor's partners to the customers. Clear and convincing presentation skills are required. You must have multi-skilled experience in the design and testing of electrical/automatic or mechanical/auxiliary (respectively) systems for naval vessels. This experience must include understanding of technical specifications, descriptions, schematics, standards and rules, standard solutions and standard materials. In addition, he/she must have a good knowledge of surface ship systems architecture and class rules (particularly those applicable to naval ships) applicable to mechanical and electrical systems. He must be able to perform system engineering and requirements management tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
• 5 to 10 years of experience in Platform System Design (Functional design and Integration, including on-board activities)
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Naval Architecture, or Marine Systems Engineering, or Auxiliary Systems Engineering, or Electrical Systems Engineering;
• Good knowledge of the integration of Auxiliary or electrical systems to Platform Management System
• Professional English (speaking, writing and reading). Ability to speak Italian (for French candidates) or French (for Italian candidates) is a plus.
Occasional travel to Europe is expected as part of the activities of the position .
Contract: open-ended
Hours: 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday
